Congrats on the new opening! I know many people in Lansing/E. Lansing who welcome another local, non-pub dining option. We thank you!! My one concern: do you have nothing for vegetarians on your regular menu?? I hope I’m wrong (or that you’ll seriously reconsider).

Again, glad to see you open and wishing you great success.

Thank you! We do have vegetarian options that can also be made vegan. Since everything is seasonal the options are always changing, but right now we have an awesome turnip puree veggie’wich & a spicy greens salad. Our tacos can also be made veggie. We’ll start doing soups soon that will be veggie focused. Thank you for asking! We hope to see you soon!

  2. Congrats on your new venture. Based on our experience of your food from the Trailer Park’d we are very optimistic about your future success! See you again soon.

Your fried chicken is Out. Of. Control. in addition to countless other delicious dishes! Thank you for providing amazing comfort food to the Lansing community. If you’re a foodie, check this place out!

Best of luck to you guys!

Great food!! Would be nice to have more veggie options.

Looking at just the prices can be a bit deceiving, because of size of sides or meals. What would one expect to pay for lunch for two people at Fork in the Road? Interesting name for your resturant as “Fork in the Road” w/Erik Villegas is one of my favorite shows that show what Michigan Farmers can offer.

Really excited to try out your food, but I will reiterate previous comments about the need for more vegetarian options. It’s always a big disappointment to walk into a restaurant where you only have 1 choice for a meal…

Excited to see what you guys come up with!

We have a daily Veggie’Wich on our menu, our Pappardelle Pasta is vegetarian, we also have Ballin’ Ass Veggie Taco’s, and most of our soups, salads are veggie friendly. There are also many options on the menu to order with out protein.

      • ahprahran says:

I agree with fitgirl1234. Your food is excellent, but for a place that bills itself as farm to table….you should really have more regular vegetarian options.

We were excited to visit you guys for dinner a few weeks ago and when we arrived all of the vegetarian specials were sold out (we ended up leaving without ordering). Although the pappardelle is vegetarian – that’s a single regular item. The Ballin’ Ass Tacos and other items can be made without protein but this feels like an afterthought. Why not add a few more regular vegetarian items? Maybe something featuring smoked tempeh or tofu?

We’d be more likely to come back if you started catering more to vegetarians! Seems like others feel the same way.

        • FitR says:

We appreciate your comment, and are sad you found it necessary to leave. But, we assure you nothing that we do at the Fork is an afterthought. The Ballin’ Ass vegetarian tacos are spectacular by the way! It is important to keep in mind that we are in a season where the selection of local vegetables are somewhat limited. As the season changes you will see a much wider variety of vegetarian options coming about. We do apologize that you arrived at an unfortunate time where certain items were sold out. Our veggie options are pretty sought after, and quite fantastic. Hopefully you will find reason to return, and we look forward to showing you what we can do for your veg-loving taste buds!

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast last weekend. I had the Ballin’ Ass breakfast scramble and it was delicious! We have a new favorite restaurant!

I was so excited when I heard you were opening up fork in the road so close to my house, that location has been filled with dissapointment after dissapointment. The food looks and taste’s amazing, and I can’t help but feeling better about myself after eating there knowing that i’ve contributed to a local business who supports local farms. I tell people about you every chance I get! Thanks and good luck :)

Is there a gluten free menu or does one need to stick to meat and veggies? I find it very difficult to go out to eat a nice meal that is delicious and gluten free. I would like a break from the kitchen once in a while. Hungryglutenfree1

    • FitR says:

We don’t have a separate gluten free menu, but we do provide many gluten free options that are delicious! We have a Braised Pork Shoulder over grits, Harrietta Hills Trout over quinoa and braised greens, and often include specials that are gluten free. My favorite gluten free option is our Ballin’ Ass Tacos on corn tortillas and a side of Tots. I do hope you’ll come in and visit soon!

    • FORK says:

Our everyday GF options are: Entrees; pork shoulder, trout, and BA Tacos on corn tortillas which are available upon request. Sides: all (tots, grits, chili)

Most of our salad and soup specials are also GF, as well as our entree specials, Just ask while ordering and the Forker at the register will be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hello.
I love Fork in the Road Diner – both the food and the politics! Thank you!
Here is my concern and request. We typically come for Sunday breakfast. We had not been there in a while, and this past weekend I ordered the veggie scramble, but it had both potatoes and sweet potatoes in it – things I should not eat because I am on a a low glycemic index diet. I am hoping you might offer at least one low glycemic index item on your menu on a consistent basis throughout the year; otherwise I will not be able to eat there anymore, which would be a bummer for me. Maybe you could offer the option of substituting a salad for potatoes.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Have a wonderful day.
    Jen

Wow! We had lunch here last week and were simply stunned. Especially by the gorgeous bread, as well as the attention to detail. I adored my corned beef sandwich–the overeasy egg was lovely and the crispy brussels sprouts leaves added a lovely texture. We were wondering if you were pursuing a bring-your-own-wine-policy….

Addendum–my husband and I rarely eat out, as he is in the business and I am someone who is an accomplished home cook. It’s a big deal if we find a place we’re willing to spend $$$ on eating, as we can generally do it better ourselves in the comfort of our own home. Example: a friend treated us to a meal at a “high end” restaurant in Lansing last weekend, and we were appalled at how the quality of the food has diminished and prices have risen since we had last eaten in this establishment. (sigh)

Thanks for your commitment to good food and to Lansing!
